I suggest you be careful about throwing brickbats around here. How do you suppose anyone is to know you're trying to work with equations unless you say so? It might surprise you to learn the there are many uses for combining diacritics that have nothing to do with the equation editor.
FWIW, I have no difficulty at all combining the sigma & circumflex characters in both lower-case and upper-case - whether or not I use the equation editor (the latter actually makes it easier). See attached.

You don't seem to realize that you have manufactured an
accusation of which I am not guilty, namely, that I was using equation without telling you. I was not using equation except when I indicated. But of course I am guilty of not telling you that I was not using equation. Was my last description about the circumflex good enough? After your last reply post, I tried the sigma circumflex again and it worked. I have another thing that doesn't work on my Windows7: pressing "new folder" does nothing. I have to use "md" on the command screen. And when I am on the internet with Firefox, I keep getting messages that my computer is slow and needs fixing and let us fix it for you. I tried one once but they wanted money. Maybe they cause the problem and then want money to fix it. Doesn't Microsoft have a similar way of fixing computers, like when they do upgrades, and maybe I can trust? |
