Hi folks,
In Word 2010 I have created a whole bunch of templates (.dotm). All the documents must have the same styles and formatting. Is there a way to create a single master template that all the other templates pick up? If i make changes to the master styles I want the changes to cascade into the other templates (I don't want the hassle of having to manually attach an updated master template to each document then update styles then save back as a template again.) I know nothing about style sheets, is this a solution perhaps? Maybe a macro to update the templates is possible, but I wouldn't know where to start with that. Any good ideas out there? |

Hi
In essence a Word Template IS a "style sheet". It contains all the styles and formatting that will be copied to all documents created from that template. If you want particular documents to use the same formatting and styles from a Master Template then you need to store the Master Template in a location that all users have access to. Then all they need to do is:
That was you only need to have one template for all users. Hope this helps. Good luck. Tony |
