Ok, so here is my situation. I am labeling all of the equations, figures, and tables in my thesis. It is nearly 300 page long and I am required to have a list of figures and tables, so there would be no way to do that without this Word feature.
This is the equation I want to label. ![]() The Caption looks correct, it should be Equation 1.1. ![]() But then it inserts 3.1. ![]() This is happening for equations, figures, and tables. Please help! |

The caption number is using 'chapter' formatting, tied to a particular heading. Evidently, whatever heading style you have it tied to has been used twice before.
