Ok, so here is my situation. I am labeling all of the equations, figures, and tables in my thesis. It is nearly 300 page long and I am required to have a list of figures and tables, so there would be no way to do that without this Word feature.

This is the equation I want to label.



The Caption looks correct, it should be Equation 1.1.



But then it inserts 3.1.



This is happening for equations, figures, and tables.

Please help!
