Hello all,
This morning I tried to open a doc file I had been working on over the evening. I had a pretty important meeting that required me to present a diary (of sorts) to my peers that I have been keeping for the last three months. About fifty or so pages. When I came to open the document at work I was presented with pages upon pages of '□'. Fortunately I noticed a .tmp file on my memory stick and found a version that was up-to-date as to last week. I only lost a weeks amount of work. After my meeting I updated the lost entries. Thinking ahead, I thought I would save multiple copies as to not be in this predicament again. Now, at home, I have opened up the various versions of the document only to be presented with pages upon pages of nothing. Even the .tmp files are blank. What is going on? Using Word 2003/7 at work. I use Open Office at home under Ubuntu. I don't use M$ crap at home for this very reason - unreliable software. Can anyone offer any advice? I can't upload the file unfortunately as it would break data protection. Any help much appreciated. Regards, Bill |
