Hey all - I am in need of your help.
My wife has a word document that has various congratulatory messages from family & friends from when our son was born. She put the messages into word doc and used tables. Some of the messages are coming through shaded and we are unable to figure out how to remove the shading. Please help.... Thank you. Dave |

Simply highlight the table cells that are shaded (or, the whole table) then click on the 'shading' icon drop-down menu from the paragraph portion of the "Home Ribbon" and select the color you want for the table (if no shading is desired, select white).

Jim - I have tried that numerous times.
I highlight the area I want - I have "Crosshair" thing on the left side - I go to Borders & Shading - then the shading Tab and make everything with no fill and solid white...and they still stay shaded. |

I wonder if you have checked to see if the text itself has shading on it. Highlight one paragraph of the shaded text, open the paragraph-formatting dialogue, select the Borders and Shading tab, and see if that's the culprit.
Otherwise, can you post a relevant bit of the table? I bet we can figure it out. Best, Ulodesk |
