Trust me, you do not want to do this to the normal style in your Normal.dotm (default) template!
I would strongly suggest, instead, creating a custom template you can use for documents where you want this and customizing the built-in heading styles to give you the list you want. How to create numbered headings or outline numbering in Word 2007 and Word 2010 |
