Default Display contents of global variable in headers

I have a document (Word 2010) that has about 20 sections and 20 unique headers/footers.

I'd like to change one thing in all the headers from time to time but since they are unique I currently have to edit each one separately.

I was wondering if I could assign a value (like 'Revision A1') to a field code or variable of some kind, then reference that field code or variable in each of the headers.

If so, I could simply change the value of the field code or variable and all my headers would be updated.

Is there a way to do this?
