![]() I changed my "normal format" when I open a blank document in WORD 2007. I must have changed Global Settings. How do I change settings to go back to my previous document format when I open a blank document? |

Hi lefttoday,
That really depends on what you've changed. If you simply want to get back to Word 2007's original 'Normal.dotx' template, find where Word keeps it (look in Word Options > Advanced > File Locations > User templates), then close Word and delete the 'Normal.dotx' file. Word will create a new one with the original setup next time you start it.

Thank you so much. However, I must have done something (that's what I get for not paying attention) else. I cannot find the file with the "normal.dotx" I may have deleted it yesterday. Any other suggestions! Thanks a bunch!!

If there is no 'Normal' file (with an extension of dot, dotx or dotm) in the location suggested by Word Options > Advanced > File Locations > User Templates, that suggests you're running with the default setup and there is no 'previous setup' to get back to.
Note: If there was nothing in the entry for Word Options > Advanced > File Locations > User Templates, the templates will be in Word's default template location, which you can navigate to by inputting: %appdata%\Microsoft\Templates into Windows Explorer's address bar.
