Hi Philip,
Actually, your image does resize - to the 4.375in (11.11cm) wide that the 96dpi suggests it should. If you use a graphics program to change the resolution in the metadata to 120dpi, without changing the actual number of pixels, the inserted image will be smaller - 3.5in (8.89cm) wide. The opposite is also true.
