We have Office 2007 installed in several lab environments and are having a printing issue only in Word, all other MS applications and other vendor applications work fine.

The problem is if we have network queues setup for single sided printing as a default, the users pages will print single sideed but if they go into the driver and select double-sided prints they still only print single sided. If the queue is setup to print double-sided by default user jobs will print double-sided but if they go in and uncheck double-sided the job still print double sided. Like i said all other applications will print what is requested at that time.

Just for the heck of it we took one of the machine's that Word had problems and uninstalled Office 2007 and installed 2010, Word printed fine when a user requested single or double-sided.

The printers are all networked HP Laserjet 9050 printer using the HP PCL5 universal printer driver. We have also tried PCL6 drivers with the same results.

Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried repairing the Word 2007 installations (Word Options|Resources|Diagnose)?

Yes we tried on several machines and still have the same problem. It's really strange that it only happens in Word.

What addins do you have installed that interact with Word? Have you tried running Word in safe mode?

Actually, i didn't know word had a "safe mode"

I will give that a try. I'm guessing all I need to run is winword.exe /a.
