![]() I run Word 2000 on a PC and do a lot of language glossary work. Right now, I'm working on Uzbek using Latin script. Uzbek Latin has 6 2-letter combinations (sh, ch, o', g', ng, ', which were single letters in the older Cyrillic script) that should sort after "z". Word 2000 doesn't sort the 6 combos correctly, even after selecting Uzbek Latin in the Sort options window. A work-around would be to globally replace the combos with various ASCII characters that sort after "z", but I haven't found any (many sort before "a" and some in the middle of the alphabet). Any ideas for such characters? Another work-around would be to replace the combos with various strings of "z"s. Seems tedious but it might be the only way. |

Hi CHHille,
Perhaps you could use a macro to replace the 2-letter combinations with single letters of the older Cyrillic script, sort, then replace the single letters of the older Cyrillic script with the 2-letter combinations.
