Default MS Word 2010 track changes

Hi there, new to the forum,

I have a MS word 2010 document with x amount of track changes under the name

sperrgepaeck, v0.1

I do not want to change the content of the track change, but the track change name into

sperrgepaeck, v1.0

This shall be done through the "Replace" functionality. I could easily manually change the Track Changes Name and then go through the document step b ystep, but thats very time consuming.

One way of using the "Replace" functionality with older MS Word version was:

Open the document in Word.
Go to View
Toolbars
Visual Basic
This opens a pop-up toolbar for Visual basic
Select the last icon on the right, labelled Microsoft Script Editor

Then I was able to change the Track Changes Name by "Replace".

This MS Script Editor is not available in 2010 anymore.

How can I change the Track Changes Name by using the "Replace" functionality for existing track changes in a MS word 2010 document.

Another option I thought is saving the MS 2010 into a *.rtf and then open the file through Notepad, but still it does not give me the track changes name.

Thanks for any suggestions

Search in google is your friend, if you know what you are searching for

search in google for

Track Changes Word 2010 change username

Change all existing Track Changes authors to one name:

1. Save a copy of the original Track Changes document, name it V1, and reject all Track Changes in it.
2. Save a copy of the original Track Changes document, name it V2, and accept all Track Changes in it. If not accepted now, they will be accepted later on in the Word Compare process.
3. Open V1 in Word > Review tab > Compare > Compare.
4. In the "Compare Documents" dialog, navigate to and select V1 as Original Document, and then V2 as Revised Document; type desired name after “Label changes with”; after “Show changes in,” select “New document,” click OK.

And onther way is

Save your doc files as xml or rtf. Do this through Save As from MS Word and then select the appropriate file extension. (Do not just change the file extension in the explorer.)

Then open the file through Notepad and you can search for your track change name and edit it as you wish.

Then I believe you open the changed document through word and safe it as a doc again.
