Tab symbols are displaying in a document I created using MS-Word 2003.
They continue to display even when I have Show/Hide turned off. The symbols do not display when the document is printed. They do not display on other computers when I open the doc there. This began recently, after I had to reformat a document, but I made so many setting changes I can't retrace my steps. Can anyone suggest how I can turn off whatever I have inadvertently turned on? Many thanks! ![]() Bill |

Click Tools | Options. On the View tab, clear not only the "All" option, but all of the options listed under "Formatting marks." In particular, you would want to clear "Tab characters." Click OK.

Yes, that took care of it!
This makes my day, because I have to send the manuscript off this week. I'm so thankful for this forum. Thanks Stefan, you are the man! Bill ![]() |
