Changing Opening Document

I am using Word2003. Every time I open the program, the document already has content (words) on the screen. I have tried to find the location of this opening template but have not been able to locate it. I can delete the words and begin but I would prefer to correct the probelm for good.

Can anyone tell me how to revise this opening document to remove these words?
