Default How to change line height for marked text (in Word 2007)? ... as default for font?

Assume I mark (only) some paragraphs of a multi-page document in Word 2007.

How exactly can I change the line height ONLY for the marked part?

How can I change the default line height for all (future) documents which use a certain font (e.g. Verdana)?

Thank you
Peter
