IncludeText fields could certainly be used to bring together content from several files into a single "master file," if that's what you want to do. Usually, though, copying and pasting (or using Insert File) would be equally easy.
Thanks, Stefan, but the macro you passed along on converting endnotes to text notes solved my dilemma.
