Yes, I was thinking something exactly like that, I would apply a style to all author names and then convert them into an index. I’m very new to macros, though, so I’d really appreciate it if someone could help provide the code. I’d be immensely grateful!

Attached is the exact document I’m working with (headers/footers removed). I would say that the first page is a similar case and the second is a complicated case but in both cases, I would always say that the first name is the first word, and if there is a construction like Word-Word that is surname.
