I'm using the following wildcard search:



So that's paren, any number, comma, space any number, paren, equals, any nonnumeric character.

It works fine if such a string exists, but if it doesn't, the first time I click Find, the cursor moves to the top of the document (or, if the cursor is already there, nothing happens). The second time I click Find, I get the message "Word has finished searching the document."

It does this regardless of the search scope (i.e., All, Down, Up).

Wouldn't the normal behavior be to show the message immediately, on the first click of the find button?

Normally, I'd not be bothered, but I'm using the search in a macro, and this behavior is interfering with the macro.

Any ideas?
