Definitely something odd about your printer and/or its drivers. You might take it up with HP. Do be aware, though, that HP has a reputation for blaming MS for faults with HP products...

Yeah, I suspect you're right.

It would be interesting to know if anybody else has had similar experiences (I'm sure I'm not the only person making CD inserts using an HP printer).

Anyway, I can manage with my workaround, but thanks for your help.
