What you're seeing may be due to the use of different versions of Word and/or the use of different printer drivers on the systems the document is being viewed on. The latter is because Word uses info from the active printer driver to optimise the page layout for the printer concerned.

Thanks for responding, macropod. I believe the computers all default to the same common printer, but they do have different versions of Word. Why that should affect this one thing, the table margins, I suppose only Microsoft would know.

Because different versions use different rendering engines for the page layout... It also doesn't matter that they're using the same printer if the drivers are different, which is quite possible if different OSs are in use.
