I've just converted a document with a table overlaid with a rounded rectangle to PDF and it came out fine. See attached
Regarding your form development, I trust you're aware that Word formfields, etc do not convert to PDF fields...

That works!
As you found, the table with an overlaid rounded rectangle does import into acrobat ok - i'm pleasantly surprised!
I think word formfields was part of the problem I had with converting word to pdf last time I tried, so i'm planning to create the fields once it's an acrobat document. Thanks for your help
