Stud3 what are you actually asking for here? If you just want to know how to design a business process then this has nothing to do with Visio... trust me Visio is self explanatory.

As for your cross functional process.. It's just two fricken lanes with the activities going between them. Please don't tell me you have wasted hours googling...because if you have, you seriously need to take a look at how you search for things.
"http://bptrends.com/images/advisor_0413.gif" This image I found in one quick search of BMPN designs and it shows a cross functional process and simply adds in external sources that are connected to the process. To get what you want just remove them.
