Hi Jim
Ok, good point! The problem never appears when using copy and paste, i.e. if the line is "good" then copy and paste doesn't introduce the problem. I've attached an example, within the zip. But I think I have now resolved why this happens, or at least one way to cause it. To create the sample I had to randomly, at first, draw lines. Part way through this I spotted why it happened, or at least a way to make it happen. 1) Draw a single line segment - this will have endpoints at each end, i.e. square box terminations. 2) Add a new point part way along the line, i.e. <ctrl>click. The line will have a diamond marker at the new point and endpoints square boxes at each end. 3) Extend the line from either endpoint. 4) the resulting line now an "endpoint" part way through the line You can also close the line to form solid shape, and the endpoints are retained around the perimeter of the shape. 6, 7 and 8 in the attached have erroneous endpoints. 1..5 don't. What I can't be sure of is whether there are other ways to cause this. But at least I have one method to create, and therefore I had a method to avoid the issue. Cheers |
