Well, after looking at your attachment...I cannot answer why your 1 - 5 examples do not have the connection points...other than questioning if they were drawing with the "connector tool" or not. If they were not...there is your answer. If they were...there is a question.

I must say that I only have version 2003 available to me (I retired over a year ago and have not updated).
