Sorry...did not mean for that comment to be critical. That error message seems to imply a "network issue". However, I am also working on a network. I just used one of my own Visio files, copied and pasted into Word. When I double-clicked on the pasted graphic, it took me to a new (smaller) window with the graphic. I modified the graphic somewhat just to make sure it could be editted, then saved the file. It was as simple as that. So, if you are not getting those results, I would not know where to go from there.
