I'm not sure what's going on with Project, but here's what's happening (hoping you guys can help me)
When I add a task, and then try to add the start and finish dates, Project keeps setting my dates to the same day...with a duration of 1 day. For example, I want to enter the following and have project calculate the duration: Task Duration Start Finish Test A (calculated) 9/1/2016 9/5/2016 But what happens is, I enter the start date, then the finish date, and Project sets them both to the same date with a duration of 1 Day. Do I have a global setting wrong or something? |

If you want to manually enter task start and finish dates, you'll need to work with manually scheduled tasks. Then you should be able to manually type start and finish dates.
