Turn on the display of time as well as date (File > Options, General). My guess is you have a "day" defined as less hours than you have set in working time.

So what is your definition of "day" (File > Options, Schedule - hours per day). What does your working time calendar show for working time?

Does the link have lead? What type of link: Finish to Start?
