![]() I have a what I hope will be a simple issue to resolve. Example: Task 1 has a duration of 1wk. Resource #1 completed task 100% in 24h. This leaves 16h worth of slack between Task 1 and Task 2, which is 1fs. The tasks are auto scheduled, but I don't understand how to get task 2 to absorb the 24hrs of slack from task 1 finishing early, while keeping the original duration and start/finish dates as 1wk. So I can see variances postmortem This seems easy, but is stumping me for some reason. Please help. Cameron |

Okay, how long (duration) did it take the resource to finish the 24 hours of work? 3 days? 4 days? As I noted in the other thread, you'll need to make the task Fixed Units or Fixed work first. Then enter the 24 hours of Actual work in the Task Usage view.
As long as the successor task is not constrained with a SNET constraint and both are autoscheduled, the F to S relationship should cause Task 2 schedule to shift, once you drop the duration of Task 1. |
