Default Allocating resources based on efficiency

Hi all - this is my first post here, so please let me know if I'm doing anything incorrectly.

I have resources assigned to a task, but I was wondering if Project had the capacity to go one step further, specifically using resources from a "pool" and assigning them.

Let's say I have Resource A, Resource B, Task C, and Task D. Both A and B can work on Task C and D, but A is much better at both of them. If there isn't enough time for Resource A to complete both tasks C and D, I'd like Project to assign Resource B to one of the task to make sure both get done on time.

Is this possible? Do I need to add additional clarification?
