Julie:
I added "Total Slack" field (new field to me) but all the calculated values are large negative numbers (???). The duration of my project is May 5 thru September 12, 2014, a total of 127 calendar days and the float calculates as -288 days! Can I p.m. a copy of my schedule to you?

Negative total slack means that you have most likely a deadline you are missing, or a constraint you have chosen to ignore.

Filter the task list using the filter "Tasks with Deadlines". To remove the deadline, double click on the task to show the Task Information dialog, click the advanced tab and remove the deadline date (click, drag, & delete).
