Default calendar -reduced working hours

Hello,

Just trying to get my head round calendars.
My first task is of 4 weeks length. With the default project calendar applied ie 40 Hrs a week.

So to check I know how to alter a calendar.
I change the duration to 120h and the task duration changes to 3 weeks (monday to fri X3).
Then I create a short week calandar (short week) of a 5 hour day/25 h week.
And change the applied calendar to "short week".
Save the project.
And reload.
I still have a 120h 3-week task.
Have I overlooked something?

TIA
