When I receive a .pps slideshow file in an e-mail, it opens and plays without problem .. as do the .pps files I have in my computer.
However, when I try to download a .pps file from a Website page, ( using Internet Explorer 9 ) a screen pops up asking "What do you want to do with the ****.ppt ?" Open / Save or Save as The only way I can get it to open and play as a slideshow .. and not in my PowerPoint editing program .. is to change the newly named .ppt extension and save it as a pps. file. Why is this happening please? Other browsers I have on my system are still opening and playing downloaded .pps files in slideshow format without problem. Any help will be gratefully received. Having experimented more .. I see that it is NOT Windows 7 which is at fault .. it is Internet Explorer 9 which changes the pps files to ppt.
If I use Firefox, Opera or Chrome .. all display a downloaded slideshow in .pps format correctly as normal. Has anyone any comments please ? ![]() |
