Question Customize Animation of several Pics on 1 slide

I have a presentation where I have over 20 slides.

On each slide I have pictures and text box's and lots of smart art items I want to have come into the slide at specific times and then fade out so the next one can come in and then that one go away and keep repeating this.

Some of them I will have come in and stay but many of them I want to have them come in to the slide in time to the narration then go out and another come into the slide in time to the narration... etc.. etc...

I have used Open Office Presentation to do this in the past and GOT IT DOWN with that program, but just can't seem to figure out how to do it in this new PowerPoint 2010!

Oh yea not all will be a fade animation, some will be "wipe" some will be "Grow & Turn" some will be "Random Bars" and so forth. I am sure once I figure out how to do an in and then out again with a single item then I can choose what sort of animation and apply that solution to it.

Please help!!
