With the image selected (picture 00), you could do one of two things:

option 1, picture 01:
Format > Color > Set Transparent Color > cursor changes > click on color you want to make transparent

option 2, picture 02:
Format > Remove Background > parts that will be removed turn magenta; if necessary use toolbar symbols to change selection; click Keep Changes to confirm

And just for your information: via Insert > Online Pictures you can find several clefs that are already on transparent background
