Default Get rid of fade-through-black when hyperlinking to Custom Show?

What I have:
- a slide showing menu items
- each item hyperlinks to a custom show containing that item's content slides
- all slides have Fade Transition

What happens:

- works just fine, but first slide of each custom show makes transition through black instead of just fading
- can be solved by deleting the transition for first slide of each custom show, but I would like it to fade, without going through black

Has anyone had this problem before? Or could someone think of a way to solve this?

Thanks!
Judith.
