Default Set up a new ribbon tab with individual forms, icons etc.

Hi MS Office World

Does anyone of you know, how to set up a new ribbon tab in Microsoft PowerPoint and import forms, icons etc. so that they can be accessed in a quick and easy manner? I actually know how to set up a new ribbon tab but struggle with linking it e.g. to a local order from where it can import own forms and icons and make them accessible under the ribbon tab. Is there a Add-in that allows this or is this to be done with VBA? Thanks in advance for your help.

Kind wishes

Robin

If you mean you know how to add a new tab using Customize Ribbon in options then that is NOT the way to go if you need to add your own code or userforms.

The free App CustomUI Editor allows you to design new ribbon tabs and menus but you will need to learn some XML and then vba to make the buttons work.

There is a very trivial tutorial on our site (with a link to the App)

http://www.pptalchemy.co.uk/custom_UI.html

There is also a free kit on the page with Ribbon XML for 4 macros done ready for you add your own vba.

Hi John

Thanks a lot for your quick reply - I very much appreciate it.

Unfortuntately this extends our knowledge of PowerPoint. Is there any way we can learn how to do this (not only the part of designing a new ribbon tab but also to allocate shapes, Icons etc. to it). Or are there any existing solutions that could be obtained for free or that are available for purchase?

Thanks and best regards

Robin

There is going to be a fairly steep learning curve!

This is an excellent book (and applies to later versions as well as 2007) but it is pretty technical.
