Default Use of pointer in presentation mode

I am using Power Point 2007 in presentation mode. I would like to be able to use the cursor pointer on the slide that I see on the presenter (laptop) screen while having the movements duplicated on the overhead projector screen that the audience sees. I am finding that the cursor can be either on the presenter screen or the projector screen - but not duplicated on both. To get from the presenter screen to the projector screen, I must move the cursor to the right. As it goes off the presenter screen to the right it appears on the projector screen - but it won't duplicate on both screens at the same time. I would like to be able to point things out on the projector screen while watching what I am doing on the presenter screen. It is awkward to have to look to one side and behind oneself to see where the pointer is on the projector screen. I can find no way to make the cursor duplicate on both screens without going to the duplicate screen mode - in which case I lose the presentation mode with my notes and the other presentation features. I hope this description of my dilemma is understandable.

Thanks, Bob

Hi. I just found your post after it was linked at the bottom of my own post yesterday. I didn't find it in my initial search. It seems I'm looking for the same answer as you, but you didn't get one here so I'm guessing this is a system limitation.

Or did you find an answer somewhere else?

My post is here.

I mention a technique to simulate a mouse pointer in Roger's post. Also you can try duplicating your display rather than extending it and then running slide show with the "Browse as individual settings" That will show your mouse pointer exactly on both monitors.
