I replaced my PowerPoint clicker remote with an Android app called Vectir Remote Control. I have been using it for about six months and can confirm that it is very reliable. It will reconnect if the WiFi connection is dropped. The setup involves installing the Vectir PowerPoint Remote Server on your computer and Android PowerPoint Remote control app on your phone. This is a universal remote control but comes with a dedicated PowerPoint remote control built in. One tip - long press on the PowerPoint icon to make a shortcut to the PowerPoint remote on your phones homescreen. Hope this helps.
