Hows your XML coding?
Added images on the master / layouts are usually marked as userDrawn="1" in the XML. The program interprets this as "they realy want to keep this!" Crazy but there you go. You may need to get into the XMl and either delete it (carefully XML is not forgiving) or safer set it to "0" instead of "1"
