Default Can't copy text boxes in PowerPoint 2011 for Mac

Hi, I'm having an issue with not being able to copy text boxes in PowerPoint 2011 for Mac.

Literally when a text box is highlighted, the option to copy it doesn't exist. Also when trying to delete a text box, hitting delete OR Fn+Delete simply backspaces over the text instead of deleting the text box.

I'm running Mac OSX 10.9.3.

I made a little video to explain: http://youtu.be/piDgbxv6Zws

I can't seem to find the answer by Googling it. Has anyone had this issue before?

I'm not on a Mac so this may be slightly different. Your video is very poor quality and it's hard to see clearly what is selected. I think that you do not have the text PLACEHOLDER selected. Try typing the text and then ESC to make sure the actual Placeholder is selected. Does copy and delete work now?

Default You're not alone

Hi, I'm having the same problem and more. You might want to try selecting a text box and resizing the text using the resize options in the tool bar. It should do a complete resize of all the text in the box but doesn't work. Instead it simply puts the cursor back into the text box at the end of the text that's there. If I want to resize the text I need to select it all, not the box, and then use the toolbar. Try that and let me know if you have the same problem

I also have the problem that if I click on the grey space around a slide without a title, so nothing is selected on the slide, the cursor automatically appears in the title bar of the slide waiting for me to type something.

I'm on OSX 10.9.4 (on a Macbook Air, mid 2011) Powerpoint version 14.4.4. I have exactly the same set up on my iMac and have no problems. I rebuild this Air from the a totally fresh install of everything (Office alone didn't work) about 4 months ago because the problem was so annoying and it worked for about 2 months before happening again.

I know that hearing someone has the same problem is quite frustrating but I know how you feel about the lack of results from a google search. I've spoken to our tech support team and they are searching for an answer - one guy reckons he's seen it before. I'll be sure to post!
