Tomorrow I will uninstall and reinstall and run the hotfix over sp2, THEN go to 3.
Additional question: Where is the setting for Quick Click color saved? If this is some text file I can edit manually, I might prefer that over messing around uninstalling/reinstalling six clients. If anyone knows the file (and how to edit it), that will suffice.
