This sounds like an AutoDiscover issue or delegate issue.

First Outlook 2003 does not use the AutoDiscover feature found in exchange and free/busy information is limited. Upgrading may resolve this.

Second. The delegation permissions may be causing this. Check both your account and the shared mailbox account to see if you are a delegate of that mailbox and if the mailbox is a delegate of your account. this will be located under tools email accounts > Delegates.

You are searching for the option My delegates receive a copy of meeting requests.

The original invitation are you the creator/owner?
