According to this website:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/...84efb890&hl=en Here is the fix for this issue: Click on "More Settings" for the E-mail Account. For "Outgoing Server", CheckMark on "My Outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication". Then select "use same settings as my incoming mail server".
