My battle with exchange server remote access!

Hello,

I'm trying everything to figure this out!

Here is my problem, or maybe I should start with a question of theory: If my Windows Phone 7 can connect to my Exchange Account, and I can log in via Web Access to my Exchange Account, and on top of that, my colleagues can access their Exchange Accounts using Entourage 2008 fro Mac, why can't I access my Exchange Account with my Outlook 2010?!

To elaborate, we are essentially working out in the field, and not on a VPN, which our two, possibly inadequate, IT guys tell me is necessary to access my Exchange. They were also completely surprised when I told them my colleagues can log in via Entourage.

Very confusing to me, and I've tried a bunch of different things, but am ready now to start over again with some expert advice by hopefully someone who is familiar with this problem.
