Is it possible to encrypt a specific folder in Outlook 2010? an add-on that will allow to do that perhaps?
I know about the possibility to set a password for a profile, but I want to encrypt only a specific folder. |

There is no option within Outlook to encrypt a folder or a mail item specifically.
I was unable to locate an add on to perform this function. However, you can export the items to your local machine and then encrypt it. You can also contact your mail provider to see if they offer Secure Messaging, this will encrypt all outgoing mail. Authentication will be required when reading the message. Hope this helps. |

![]() It's just a folder that I use for when I receive e-mails from particular people, so I have rules that directly move it to that folder, but I don't want other people in the house/office to somehow get to this folder and to read what's inside. Exporting out and encrypting it will be too much hassle. |

If you do happen to find a way to encrypt your folders, please share that information as inquiring minds want to know.

Well, it's possible to encrypt the whole .pst, so by creating a new .pst and storing there sensitive data is kind of half of the solution. Problem is, you have deattach it and reattach it every time you want to access it. Otherwise it will ask you a password when you open the outlook and then it will be completely accessible.
