Apologies for the title but it's the best I can think of.
We've had a server crash which has deleted all my mail and contacts. However when I started typing in a name in the "To" field I noticed that it displayed a box containing the addresses of people I have previously typed in. This information has obviously been held somewhere (probably on my local machine) but does anybody know how I can access it. Even if it's just a raw list of email addresses it would give me a fighting chance. Any Help Appreciated |

The Auto Name Resolution that you are seeing uses an NK2 file to store previously used email addresses. That NK2 file can be found in C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. You may need to enable viewing of Hidden Files and Folders.
You will need an NK2 viewer application to see the addresses within the file. I have used NK2View, which can be downloaded here: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/outlook...ocomplete.html Hope this helps. -SW |

Many thanks for that, I have found another very similiar resolution: Path C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\proof\custom.dic This gives a text file of every item you've added in word and typed into the address in outlook. A little messing around with filters and I managed to retrieve a lot of info. Again many thanks for the help. |
