This is driving me crazy and I hope someone here can help, I have an old Windows 10 computer with Office Pro 2019 and a new Windows 11 computer with Office Pro 2024. As I've done many times before when migrating old Outlook on an old computer to new Outlook on a new computer I copy the old Pst files from the old computer to a folder on the new computer; I setup outlook with the email accounts on the new computer, creating a new Pst file; then I import the old Pst file into the new Pst file. Everything appears to have worked with the exception of the Sent Items folder, on the old computer (which still works btw) I opened outlook and checked the Sent Items folder and it has exactly 10,000 items; on the new computer there are only 10 items in the Sent Items folder. When I open the old Pst file on the new Windows 11 computer as a 2nd Pst file and go to the Sent Items folder there are only 10 Sent Items despite the fact that when I just looked at this Pst file on the old computer it had 10,000 Sent Items. I've tried a bunch of different things such as repairing the Pst file on the old computer then transferring the file again and again I get the same results. I've tried on the old computer to Export the Sent Items folder to a new Pst and then copy the file to the new computer and the sent items folder is empty.
Nothing that I've done has worked to get the old sent items over to the new computer. Has anyone seen anything like this? |

No sure fix, but here are some things to try.
1) Clear any filters (Microsoft may have added them) and check the Folder Type on the new PC. Fix the Outlook Folder Type after Exporting an IMAP Account 2) Create a new empty PST on the old PC, copy the emails into it, and then open that on the new PC. (Certainly want to test with a sample first) |

How big is the PST from the old PC? 10K emails are going to take up some space.

Export just the Sent Items folder from the old PC to a PST?

Nix on the Folder Type change. You are obviously not in an Exchange environment.

I guess these emails are hidden. You can try MFCMAPI to open the PST file on the new computer and check if they exists or not. With the raw properties of these emails, you can get to know whether they exists or not.
Also in your last test " I've tried on the old computer to Export the Sent Items folder to a new Pst and then copy the file to the new computer and the sent items folder is empty.". What is the size of the new PST file containing these 10, 000 sent emails. If it is very small, then the emails are not exported successfully. |

Sorry, I missed that you have already tried "Export the Sent Items folder to a new Pst".
I think my #2 still might be worth a try: 2) Create a new empty PST on the old PC, copy some of the Sent emails into it, and then open that on the new PC. (Certainly want to test with a sample first) |

After I got time to look at this again there was an active filter on the old Sent Items folder (in the exported pst file) and that's why it appeared empty, once I cleared it I was able to copy everything to the new Sent Items folder and it's all good now.

The problem is fixed now but there is a number of things about this that make no sense to me whatsoever, the biggest being that that Sent Items folder on the old computer did not have a filter on it so when I exported it why did the exported pst file then have a filter on the Sent Items folder? |
