When I open outlook 2010 on my windows 7 i get the individual message boxes showing that emails are downloading, my to do list also opens up, but the main screen does not so I cannot view any of the email items downloaded. Can anyone offer any suggestions please? thanks

The emails don't show in the reading pane? Are you waiting for the emails to fully download? Is your mailbox large? Have you considered using cached mode (assuming you're using an Exchange account) to allow you to access your emails without downloading them every time?

Thanks for responding, sorry I have been away for a week. I am not using exchange. When I open outlook, it shows the screen opening the program, then becomes an icon at the bottom of my screen, but I cannot actually open the page - not sure how better to word it. I get screen boxes showing emails downloading, but I cannot get the app to actually open and view. If I click on the open icon at the bottom of the screen it shows me a border with a blank center and wont enlarge to full screen... Its like it gets stuck opening up, but is functioning - - - hope that makes sense

I would strongly recommend re-installing the program. This does not sound like any kind of error I have heard of before and likely means your version of Outlook is corrupted.

If you remove the installation and reinstall, and this doesn't solve your problem, please let me know and I will continue to look for a solution.

It's also possible your profile is corrupted, or your mailbox is so large that it's causing issues. What kind of account do you use? POP/IMAP? You can find out by navigating to Control Panel > Mail > Email accounts and checking what information it has under "Type."
