Hi. I have done this procedure before without any issues, but am now struggling.
I am creating a 'new mail' link in Outlook which has part of the subject filled in. I get the customise box up and drag 'New message' under commands to the toolbar. I right click this to assign hyperlink. I select open. In the window that appears, I select Email address and then type mailto: in the Email address field and type Protect: in the subject. Underneath this are recently used email addresses with things like mailto:?subject=Protect:%20 etc. I press ok and then name this shortcut. when I close down the Customize box, and I click this new shortcut, I receive the following message: 'Outlook cannot launch an application to handle mailto:?subject=PROTECT:%20. The URL may be incorrect, or you may need to install an application to handle this type of URL' When I go back to look at the hyperlink, sure enough, it has used one of the ones listed under recently used email address and not the one I typed in. How can I prevent this happening please? When I've done this procedure before it hasn't copied the 'recently used email addresses' and so has worked ok. My IT dept can't seem to be able to resolve this either. Thank you PS: This is on a machine running Windows XP Last edited by Airwolf23; 01-06-2014 at 09:54 AM. Reason: added the PS |
